THKは、独創的な発想と独自の技術により、世界に先駆けて「直動システム」を開発しました。この「直動システム」とは、機械の直線運動部の「ころがり化」を実現したもの。回転運動部の「ころがり化」は、ベアリングにより100年以上も前に商品化されましたが、直線運動部の「ころがり化」は、難しいと言われ続けていました。その困難を世界で初めて打ち破ったのが、1972年の「直動システム」の開発でした。これにより高精度化、高速化、省力化、さらには効率の向上を生み出し、省エネを考慮した装置設計を可能にしました。
